Commitment to data protection
Thank you for your interest in our website and our company: Commerce Connector GmbH, Eberhardstraße 69-71, 70173 Stuttgart. The following information on data protection refers to the use of our website www.commerce-connector.com.
Commerce Connector is committed to protect the personal data of people using our website and strictly adheres to the stipulations of German data protection law with respect to the collection and processing of such data. The following information is aimed to give you an overview of the nature, extent and purpose of the collection and processing of personal data. The information can at all times be accessed on our website.
Should you have any further questions regarding data protection or should you wish to exercise your rights or claims in connection with personal data, please use the contact form available on our website or send us an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that with respect to email communication we are not in a position to guarantee absolute data security and therefore recommend contacting us by post where confidential information is concerned.
Extent of data collection and storage
In general, the usage of our website does not require the collection or processing of personal data. Information like name, address, telephone number or email address, etc. is not recorded, unless you provide such information on your own accord, e.g. by sending us an email or a request via the contact form on our website.
Commerce Connector does not forward any data collected during the use of our website to third parties, nor does our website integrate cookies from third parties who could thereby gain access to your personal data.
Whenever you access our website or retrieve a data file therefrom, your browser will automatically transmit data, in particular including your IP address, the selected language, the name of the accessed file or page, the date and time of access, the data volume transmitted, a confirmation of successful retrieval, as well as the details of your browser and operating system and the referring domain. The processing of such information is indispensable to allow the usage of our website, since a successful access requires the adaption of the respective user browser and requires the details of the IP address to allow communication.
Anonymised data analysis
For purposes of analysis, control and optimisation of our website, we store – in anonymised form – some of the abovementioned information, which comprises:
- the IP address, the last two digits of which are anonymised
- the language selected by the user
- the site from which the user has been forwarded, if any
- the browser and plug-ins used by the accessing user
Our company uses PIWIK, a so-called web analysis software, which allows us to maintain control over the collected data at any time. All data exclusively remains on our own servers and is not transmitted to and stored on servers in third countries, as is the case with other web analysis software. Moreover, the use of PIWIK does not involve the setting of cookies. PIWIK only processes such data as are, for the abovementioned purposes, automatically sent by your browser whenever you access our website.
Right to information and right of objection
You may at all times, without indication of reasons and free of charge, request information about your personal data stored by us. You may at all times request an update or deletion of such data if it proves to be incorrect.
Moreover, you have the opportunity to prevent an anonymised data analysis by activating the “do not track” function of your browser, a feature available in all standard internet browsers of the latest generation. For this purpose, we have configured our PIWIK software to support the “do not track” function. For more specific information please refer to the guidelines of your browser provider.

On our website, you can elect to subscribe to our newsletter. Doing so requires providing an email address. Giving additional information such as your name is voluntary and is only used to personally address you in the newsletter. Your information is used to send the newsletter and will not be given to third parties (exception: the service provider we contracted out to send the newsletter). Your personal data will be deleted if you choose to unsubscribe to the newsletter. You can unsubscribe at any time by clicking on the link at the bottom of every newsletter or by selecting “unsubscribe” on the page on which you originally subscribed to it.
We are continually working on bettering our newsletter. That’s why we would like to know which newsletter content our readers find especially interesting, and which content is worthy of improvement. With your consent, we use encoded links to do so. In addition to linking to a specific address, encoded links also contain a code that is the same for all recipients.
